We are Lente & Bascha IJntema, the founders of Transformatter. We have always been builders, builders of block towers, artworks, connections, and stories. While what we build has taken on many different turns, our why has never changed: Since we were kids, we’ve been drawn to collecting and imagining stories around objects.

With Transformatter, we keep that instinct alive finding new ways to let objects speak, tell their stories, and invite new memories. There’s a growing awareness around the impact of fast food and fast fashion, but fast furniture which fills so many homes remains overlooked in many ways. In Europe alone we throw away 11 miljard kilos of furniture pieces on a yearly base, from which only 10 percent gets recycled and the rest is being burned. We at Transformatter believe it is time to change the narrative. At Transformatter we tell stories.

Creating interior products that speak. Transformatter turns peoples waste into peoples wants. up-cycling objects that have lost their original function into new, high-quality and sustainable interior products designed to live on for generations. Our mission at Transformatter is to say goodbye to the throwaway culture that’s taken over furniture design. We want to create beautiful, meaningful products and inspire others to cherish their belongings and the stories they hold. Just like we started our journey of building and storytelling as kids, we will keep on transforming the things around us because we believe it matters.
